台中市發生一起離奇的自殺案，一位家住北區的陳姓男子竟抱了一瓶瓦斯桶，偷潛進西區一處公寓地下室，躺在角落擁著瓦斯桶蓋好棉被，嘴含著瓦斯出口吸進瓦斯自殺，住戶發現後報警，大家都不認識死者，後才警方才查出死者住在北區，家屬表示死者患有憂鬱症，不知為何會跑到西區別人的公寓地下室尋短。
上星期西區中興街一處老式公寓散發出濃濃瓦斯味，住戶們四處搜尋瓦斯來源後，赫然發現平日無人會下去，且堆積許多雜物的地下室竟然有一具男屍，男屍蓋著棉被躺在地下室地上的角落，嚇得趕緊報警。
第一警分局公益派出所及台中市消防隊趕至現場，發現地下室散發出瓦斯，進入搜查發現一位男姓死者抱著一具瓦斯桶相擁而眠。為了安全，警消先把瓦斯桶抬出屋外關閉，三小時瓦斯味散去後再抬出遺體。
由於住戶都不認識死者，警方根據証件查出死者身份，是住在北區的五十一歲陳姓民眾，家屬到場指認後表示死者患有憂鬱，之前已曾有一次尋短紀錄。由於平日工作不正常，生活更加緊縮，可能更加重輕生念頭。※【 NOWnews 今日新聞 】 提醒您：

敘利亞西北部伊德利布省今(5)日傳出化學毒氣攻擊事件，釀成慘重傷亡，美國政府認為用的是沙林毒氣，並且幾乎認定是效忠敘利亞總統阿塞德的政府軍發動攻擊。美國總統川普譴責，這是歐巴馬政府太過軟弱。
路透社報導，這起事件造成至少100人死亡，300多人受傷。川普發表聲明指出，敘利亞伊德利布省(Idlib)的攻擊事件必須受到文明世界的譴責，並再度將矛頭指向歐巴馬政府，稱他前手的軟弱造成了阿薩德(Bashar al-Assad)政權的殘暴。他並抨擊歐巴馬曾說要建立對抗化武的政策，最後卻只是開空頭支票。
美國國務卿提勒森(Rex Tillerson)認為，在背後支持敘利亞政府軍的俄羅斯及伊朗也必須為這起事件負責，向阿薩德政權施壓避免類似事件再次發生。美國官員表示，若證實阿薩德政府使用化武攻擊，即是犯下戰爭罪行。
